Where it all began

I remember when Trigger Point Therapy and Myo-Fascial release first started to get really popular. It was around the end of the nineties.

Admittedly some really smart people had discovered these compression techniques for loosening muscles, and releasing knotted fibres, several years earlier.

Dr Janet Travell talked avidly about Trigger Points as early as the 1940’s. However, the word started to travel really fast around 2005 aided by the success of the treatments and social media growth.

Compression versus rolling

Over the last 10 years rolling has become very popular as a technique to ‘Trigger point’ and ‘Myo-fascial’ release. This makes sense to a degree but not as much as a therapist’s elbow, knuckle or thumb to get the desired effects.During compression blood flow is suppressed and on release fresh nutrients and oxygen re-enter the muscle. This is the fundamental basis for both of these popular treatments when it comes to releasing knots, fascia and contracted muscles.

Introducing WellbriX

WellbriX is a modular massage system of magnetically linking blocks that simulate a massage therapist’s thumb, knuckle or elbow.

How are WellbriX better than rollers and balls?

With WellbriX we tried to create convenience, versatility and effectiveness. Rollers and balls are not being defunct but here are some of our thoughts regarding the benefits of WellbriX.

Effectiveness

WellbriX simulates a therapist’s elbow, knuckle and thumbs and can be directed onto muscle fibres anywhere in the body. They have the advantage over balls that they magnetically link in multiples so areas can be done more quickly. They are also non slip and we have wall sucker pads so that many of the massage positions can be carried out against a wall with no slippage and easy weight bearing.

Use the regular coloured set that is squash ball firmness or the grey 20% firmer lacrosse ball hardness

Versatility

WellbriX has speed and stability over balls and versatility over rollers. WellbriX is a one stop modular massage system. Our new sucker pads bring out the true meaning of versatility as it means not just any muscle but also anywhere.

Portability

WellbriX are a 10 x 10 cm block weighing in at 300g . Light and easy to transport.

Based on the beauty of a Damien Hirst painting and the agility of lego they look great anywhere.
